Natural Curatives for Constipation
Friday, July 30th, 2010If you use herbal laxatives, colonics and enemas, there are a few lifestyle choices you can create to stimulate your colon regularity.
Increased water consumption. For better colon regularity, you have to drink more water. Our bowel requires adequate amounts of water to form and move waste through the system. Overall, most of us are chronically dehydrated, which is the key cause of constipation in most of us. If you only did one thing for improved regularity and colon health, you should drink more water.
Increased dietary fiber. Dietary fiber is the other necessary dietary element for regular bowel health. How do you know if you need more fiber? Well, if about half of your diet does not consist of fruits, vegetables and whole grains, you would do well to consume more fiber. I promise you, if you were to step-up your intake of fiber, and drink ample amounts of water, your bowels will move with greater regularity.
Exercise. The amount and quality of exercise you get does have an immense impact on the frequency of movement of our colon. The bowel is one long muscle, and if we don’t exercise adequately, it will be forced to do a lot more work (especially if it doesn’t have enough water and fiber). Physical activity assists the muscles in the large intestine and speeds up transit time of waste moving through the colon.
Colon cleansing. A bimonthly bowel cleanse is a good means to keep your colon regularity. Comparable to a colonic irrigation, a bowel detox facilitates the evacuation of excess waste from your colon walls. You should learn how to detox your colon.
